Julia Haack

These artworks are made of individually painted pieces of wood; specifically, lath.

The influences on my work are familial, historical, environmental, and situational. Combined, they are signified by my choice of media, color combinations, and in my titles. My wall mounted constructions may refer to subjects as diverse as a childhood memory of the costumes in a flamenco performance, or the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, or the September flowers in my backyard garden.

Blending earth stewardship with frugality, I use salvaged and repurposed wood extensively
