My artwork is influenced by place; sun-washed color from early life in Southern California followed by a move to the Pacific Northwest. Exposure to NW environment, both terrestrial and marine instilled in me forms reduced to a basic geometry. My hand built ceramic forms are carved and painted with underglaze. The fired works are completed with non-fired finishes and sealed with archival wax.
I have exhibited and taught ceramic since earning a BFA, UW. After work abroad, I earned an MFA, Mills College, Oakland, CA and began college teaching. Resettling with family in Seattle, I continued teaching and studio art for commission and exhibition.
