I’m fascinated by Tibetan prayer flags, both the wind sending prayers to the heavens and the faith of those who hang them that their prayers will be received.  Using my own motifs, my art explores both the prayer flag’s form and the spirituality of its messages. Sheer silk organza, which responds to very subtle air movement, tops some flags allowing the flag to flutter even when inside as well as adding visual complexity. Hand embroidery using hand-dyed thread completes the message on others.
